Conditions of entry



  1. The competition is open to organists of all nationalities up to the age of 35
    (birthyear 1983).

  2. All the performances are open to the public.

  3. The competitor shall renounce all performing rights for any offi­cial recordings as well as for radio or television broad­casting.

  4. The entry form must be completely filled out and, in appendix of file:
    a. a curriculum vitae and a passport photo
    b. a copy of the passport or identity card
    c. a copy of an  organ diploma (bachelor, master ...) 

  5. An entry fee of 100 Euros is payable on

The competitors (Semi-Final and Final) will be able to practice on smaller church organs
– Saint-Maurice area – according to a prearranged schedule or on request.




  • One first prize: CHF 10,000, prize of the State of Valais,
    awarded by the council for culture of the «Canton du Valais»

  • One second prize: CHF 6,000, awarded by the town of Saint-Maurice

  • One third prize: CHF 4’000, awarded by the Foundation Seymour-Obermer

The decisions are taken by the Jury without knowing the identity of the candidates.
They are final and may not be contested.




For the Preselecion in July, in Lausanne, travelling and accomodation expenses are to be borne by the competitors themselves.
The candidates selected for the Semi-Final will receive a lump sum of CHF 500 to cover their expenses – vouchers are to be deposited in Lausanne at the time of the Preselection – refundung Mid-August.

For the Semi-Final and Final, in Saint-Maurice, the travelling expenses are to  be borne by the competitors themselves.
The competition office can supply, as far as possible, adresses of families offering accomodation (bed & breakfast) – limited number, and assigned on a first come, first served basis. The candidates may also see to accomodation in a hotel or at the “Hotellerie Franciscaine” (boarding-house) themselves and at their own expenses

Final details, such as stoplists of the organs, geographical maps,  will be communicated to the applicants by the end of May 2018

The results of the Preselection will be communicated to the candidates on 6th August 2018
